FLOUT LEAGUE AGAIN?
JAPAN AND MANCHURIA. KOBE, August 19. The former Home Minister, Mr. Adachi, now leading the new party, visited the Premier, urging recognition of Manclnikuo, the new State in Manchuria. The Premier answered ambiguously. Mr. Adachi next visited the War Minister, Licutenant-General Araki, who replied instantly that he quite agreed as to the necessity for early recognition of Manchukuo, without simply leaving the matter to the Foreign Office.
Since the Lytton (League of Nations) report will be almost certainly adverse to recognition, it is generally believed that Japan's recognition will synchronise with the opening of the League meeting at which the report will be presented.
