MOTOR BODY BUILDING.
TTSE Or NEW ZEALAND BEECH. HOPE OF BRITISH AGREEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, Saturday. The prospects of reaching agreement with the British motor trade to induce them to use New Zealand beech for body building are bright, according to Mr. A. R. Entrician, forest products engineer of the State Forest Service, who is leaving for England Qn a special mission to-day. Mr. Entrican, who is being sent to England at the request of the Dominion Sawmillers' Federation, embarks on an endeavour to reach agreement over standard specifications governing the timber. Agreement on the necessary standards without a visit to England is impossible. Low freight rates and the prospects of bulk shipments, due to the increased business of the British motor car trade, now make possible a most profitable business for New Zealand. Success will mean that Dominion lumber mills will be able to work nearer full time than they, have for many years.
