NEW ROWING SHED.
OLD LANDMARK GOES
An old landmark in Judge's Bay will go this month with the removal of the St. George's Rowing Club shed, which has stood for more than 45 years. The shed will be dismantled, removed to, and re-erected on a site granted by the Harbour Board next the Akavana Yacht Club's premises. The new clubhouse, a single-storey shed, will be erected in time for the opening of the rowing season in November, at a cost of £470 for shed and launching skids. Now in its fiftieth year, the St. GeorgeV; (Bay) Rowing Club was established on August 13, 1883, when the foundation members were Messrs. H. H. Hudson. Sanderson (sen.), J. F. Sanderson. F. Peachey, J W. Winks, T. Carmichael. H. Saunders, H. Ashton, R. Adlmgfcon, F. 1 W. Moore. J. Johnston, T. Kilfovlc. W. Bloomfield, E. Coleman, T. Ainsley. Ivan Wandsboro, Griegson, and Woodhouse.
Built by the members at St. George'.. Bay, the first shed cost £10. Tt vvrs destroyed by fire, but rebuilt by t!i ". members, and the present shed was b»i!t by contract at Judge's Bay.
