STILL UNBEATEN. N.Z. TEAM IN AUSTRALIA. DRAWN GAME WITH VICTORIA. MELBOURNE, August 21. The New Zealand hockey team met Victoria yesterday, the match resulting in a draw, each side scoring two 'goals. The teams were:— New Zealand.—Forwards, D. Reid, P. Anthony, M. Bay, T. Turbitt, F. Wellbourne; halves, P. H. Munro, G. Rogers; backs, P. Spiers, T. Ewan; goal, C. Moore. Victoria.—Forwards, A. Hutchinson, J. Thwaites, A. Roberts, H. Cole, K. Miller'; halves, H. Boileau, I. van Asche, K. Elder; backs, W. Brown, R. McGregor; goal, R. Hardie. The 6corers for Victoria were Cole and Thwaites, and for New Zealand Anthony and Bay. The best players in the New Zealand team were Ewan, Spiers and Bay, while the outstanding men on the Victorian side were Elder, van Asche, Brown and McGregor. From the start-it was evident that the victorious New Zealanders had strong opposition, and it was only the splendid defence of the New Zealanders that saved them from defeat.

The Dominion side has won 14 and drawn 2 of the 16 games played. Goals for 12n, against 13. The tour terminates with matches against Australian Universities, at Melbourne to-day, and against New South Wales at .Sydney on Wednesday.

St. Luke's were first away, gaining a penalty corner, McLeod's shot going wide of the net. Securing near the side line at the 50-line, Sweeney cross hit, but Monteith failed to 1 connect and lost a fine chance. Grace made a fine run to the circle and shot, but Kankin saved. W Burnett got the rebound and again Rankin stopped and a free hit then relieved Shore Shore swept down the right, a good pass being taken by Anthony, whose shot was stopped by Wattam and McLeod cleared. Another St. Luke's onslaught caught Rankin taking matters too easy. He quickly retrieved his position and, despite half a dozen shots by the reds, the goal was kept intact. The reds were soon back to the goal mouth, but offside cost an .easy chance. A prolonged attack by the •reds followed until a long drive by Anthony gave Shore a footing in the reds' quarter A penalty corner was gained. Brown stopped the shot, a twenty-five bully resulting. St. Luke's swung play to Shore's end and half-time sounded without score. Upon resuming Shore broke away and Williams stayed progress, Monteith was handy and, renewing the attack, exciting moments in the goal mouth followed till Monteith netted. Shore 1, St. Luke's 0. __W. Burnett made a solo run, reached the circle and shot. Rankin again saved at the expense of a corner. A penalty corner followed without result.
