ADDINGTON TRACK. CANNONBALL VERY WELL. AUTO MACHINE PLEASES. The bijj track at Addington was harrowed and made available to trainers on Monday afternoon, when several horses were given fast work. All the trials were done on the outside portion of the course. Cannon-ball set out for a two-mile journey; but broke badly at the end of a furlong and was pulled up. He was jogged once round and then trotted two miles under a. strong pull in 5.0. Cannonball is particularly well. Somerby paced two miles in attractive style without the assistance of the hopples. V. Alborn has him in splendid buckle for his August engagements. Harvest Child, unhoppled, led Cyone over a mile and a quarter. The first mile occupied 2.17 2-5, and the full journey 2.53 4-5. Both appeared short of work, and will benefit greatly by the work-out. Colorado, unhoppled, accompanied Lord Leslie over two miles in 4.58 3-5. The first mile was negotiated in 2.30. Lord Leslie acted pleasingly, and had a good hold of the bit when the post was reached. Erin's Lynn went a mile and a half in 351. The first mile took 2.18. She looks very well, but is a lazy worker. White Stranger, with R. Hart in the sulky, did several rounds, brushing over a furlong at various stages of the assignment. Bonnie Prince (E. Carlyon) and _ a novice in J. S. Shaw's stable were* given serviceable work.

Muriel de Oro Goes Nicely. Eugene de Oro and Avenger were companions over a mile run in 2.19.' The last two furlongs was done in 30s. Gay Paree, Baron Bingen and Our George were given rousing work over a mile. They finished in line, the watch reading 2.21 4-5, the last half-mile in 19 4-ss. Sunchild was beaten by Muriel de Oro over a mile and a half in 3.29. The first four furlongs were covered in 1.12, mile in 2.20. Muriel de Oro pulled up well, and enjoyed every stride of the journey. _ Aristotle kept Great Nelson company in a spin over a mile and a quarter. The first four furlongs were done in 1.11 4-5, mile in 2.23, mile and a quarter in 2.57 3-5. Playwave led Impromptu, Great Parrish and Auto Machine away on a twelve furlongs journey. They reached the four furlongs peg in 1.12, where Great Logan and Acre joined in, Great Logan acting as pacemaker. They reached the mile station in 2.20, and the mile and a quarter in 2.55. Once in line for home. Great Parrish and Auto Machine drew up to Great Logan, and • Acre dropped ou.t. Auto Machine finished resolutely, with Great Parrish and Great Logan almost on terms with him. ' The last two furlongs were left behind in 32 l-ss, the time for the full distance being 3.27 1-5. Auto Machine was keen to go on, and provided he can be given another couple of fast essays he wfll.be well forward for Saturday's engagement. WORK ON TUESDAY. FREE ADVICE PACES RESOLUTELY.

The big track at Addington on Tuesday morning afforded reasonable footing, and a number of horses were given useful'work. Warplane led Kelp and Royal Comrade for a mile and a quarter in 2.58 2-5, where Warplane was eased up, leaving Kelp and

Royal Comrade to complete a mile and a half in 3.31 2-5. New Metford marred hie display over twelve furlongs by making a break near the finish. Huon "Voyage and Wilbur White were on terms in a spin over twelve furlongs in 3.32. Both went pleasingly. Peter Fashion ; had Nelson Ata as a companion over a mile and a half, which occupied 3.35. Gold Tingle, with A. McLellan in the- sulky, strode over a mile and a half m 3..J4. Neeoro and Tempest had a 50yds start ot Free Advice in a serviceable bout over two miles in 4.44 2-5. When the first mils was completed, Free Advice was close to her associates and was level with them at the end of the journey. I lie first mile took 2.30 4.5. The trio paced resolutely all the way. Rollo and Belinda kept together while compassing a mile and a half, in 3.26 2-5. Both were going very easy at the finish. The first mile was done in 2.21 2-5. Colorado was sent a mile and a quarter in 3.1, the first mile was accomplished in 2.25. Nimble Direct and Princess Mauritius went comfortably over a mile and a half in 3.28 2-5. The first mile was reached in 2.18, and the mile and a quarter in 2.53 2-5. Lord Leslie, Brentlight, Netta Oro and Steel All enjoved ten furlongs in 2.56 3-5. Wilma Dillon, Wrecker and Country King went away fifty yards in front of Golden Pedro. The' mile peg was passed in 2.27, and the mile and a half in 3.36. .Over the last half-mile Golden Pedro moved up to his colleagues, and they finished in .close formation, the watch reading 4.44 2-5. Biddv Parrish showed the way to Katute over two miles in 5.4 4-5. The amtial eight furlongs was done in 2.35.

REQUIRES ATTENTION. Several trainers in the Auckland district have not yet made application to the New Zealand Trotting Association at Christchurch for their licenses for the new season. They are reminded that nominations for the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting, to be held on August 27, close to-morrow week, and unless application is made few licenses before then they will be unable to nominate their horses.
