W.C.T.U.
The eighth conference of the School of Methods was held on Monday in the Temperance Room, Unity Buildings. Mrs. Kasper presided, the following ladies being present: Mesdamgs Neal, Morgan-Richards, Craig, Williams, Hayr, Clark, Carr, Hunter, Day, Wrack, Burnett, Watson, Miss Read, and the Misses Meliay, Dominion organisers. The subject of study was "The Constitution of the Y Branches." This was ably expounded by Mrs. Neal, Dominion superintendent for scientific and medical temperance, who paid great tribute to the memory of the late Miss Maunder, the pioneer of scientific temperance teaching in public schools. At the district executive meeting, held in the afternoon, an excellent report of her work for the month of July was given by Miss Annie McLay.
