MINOR DIVISION.
REP. TEAM FOR NORTH AUCKLAND. The minor division committee of the A.F.A. last night completed arrangements for a visit by a primary school rep. team to North Auckland during the August holidays, and Mr. G. C. Ballantyne was appointed manager. It is proposed to play school teams in Hikurangt and Whangarei and surrounding districts to give a stimulus to the Soccer code in the i>orth. The committee decided to relinquish the usual trip to Wellington to compete for the Webster Shield this season, aad to substitute the tour of North Auckland where more useful pioneering work could be achieved. The movement for the withdrawal of the secondary school competition in Auoklnnd from the jurisdiction of the minor division committee, and to run them under the control of the school sports authorities affiliated with the A.F.A.. was considered a highly satisfactory and favourable proposal and will be supported. Entries for the knock-out competitions in the third intermediate, fourth nnd fifth grades elose with the secretary, Mr. R. M. Beswici, oa Monday night next at 5.30. Arrangements are well forward for a "midget" game on Blandford Park in the near future.
