LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
ENGLISH TOURISTS.
FIRST GAME TO-MORROW. TEAM TO PLAY NORTHLAND. The New Zealand tour of the English Rugby League team will open to-morrow, when a solid eide will meet a Northland thirteen at Whangarci. In view of their fine record in Australia it is unlikely the visitors will experience any difficulty in defeating the northerners, although the latter can De depended upon to throw all they, possess in the way of football into the game. The ignglieh team left Auckland this morning, and those remaining behind put in solid practice at Carlaw Park. The visitors are not inclined to treat the New Zealand team to play the first Test on Saturday very lightly, as they know from past experience that any Dominion team is not easily defeated. As a matter of fact it will must likely bo found that the English team taking the field against New Zealand on Saturday will be identical with that which defeated Australia in the third Test. - To-morrow's sides are:— ENGLAND.
