CONSTITUTION AMENDED. INCREASE OF MEMBERSHIP. To facilitate the unification of horticultural interests in Auckland, the Auckland Horticultural Association passed several radical amendments to its constitution at the thirty-fourth annual meeting last evening. In the absence of the president, Sir Edwin Mitchelson, the chairman of the committee, Mr. T. E. Hickeon, presided. Under the amended constitution the present committee will be replaced by an executive committee of seven members, and a floral committee of three gentlemen and two lady members, together with two delegates from each of the approved horticultural organisations. The meeting also adopted a more stringent definition of " amateurs," but relnxed the rule governing novice exhibitors to include in the novice class those who had not previously won a prize for the species of bloom exhibited. A new definition of nurserynvin was also added. Commenting on the growth of the association during the past year, the chairman said that the secretary, Mr. N. C. Pierce, had gone to great pains to enrol new members, and had succeeded in adding over 200 to the list. The thanks of the association were also due to Mr. H. Massey, whom he moved to be appointed honorary architect. The election of officers resulted:—Patron, hU Excellency the Gover.ior-Goneral; vicepatron, the Mayor, Mr. Or. W.
