RAILWAY TRAFFIC BRIDGES.

ERECTION BY BELIEF LABOUR SUGGESTION TO GOVERNMENT. At the meeting of the Papatoetoe Welfare League last evening, the president, Mr. S. J. E. Closey, drew attention to the remarkable number of level crossing accidents occurring throughout New Zealand. He eaid that the men and materials were at hand, and suggested that the construction of traffic bridges would make an excellent project for the employment of relief workers. The cost could be borne by those directly affected by the safety of the highways, and by insurance companies who would benefit by reduced underwriting risks. It was decided to place the proposal before the Prime Minister, the Minister for Employment, and the local M.P.
