PILOT ACCUSED.
"COMMITTED MURDER IN AIR."
TOKYO, June 10.
Because a waitress "made him feel small" during a banquet, a Japanese aeroplane pilot, of Hamanatsu, persuaded her to accompany him on a "joyride," and then performed a series of "acrobatics" at the height of which the girl was thrown out of the cockpit. She fell 2000 feet to her death. Now the pilot is being charged >"ith murder.
After a prolonged inquiry, the girl's death was stated to have been accidental. Fresh information, however, reached the police, and the pilot was closely interrogated.
He is stated to have admitted that the girl had no safety belt. She made him "feel small" because he tried to flirt with her. In revenge, therefore, he took her up in his aeroplane and stunted until she fell out.
