PRICES AT FRANKTON
FAT SHEEP CHEAPER,
Messrs. Dalgcty aud Company, Limited, report having held, their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, June 14, as under:— Fat Sheep.—An average yarding. Competition was dull, and late prices were not obtainable. Fat and unfinished wethers suffered a further drop. Prime young ewes sold at late rates, while aged and inferior fat ewes were slightly lower. Extra prime fat wethers sold at up to 13/11; fat wethers, 11/6 to 13/2; smaller wethers, 10/6 to 11/3; young fat ewes, 8/9 to 10/3; aged fat ewes, 6/3 to 7/0; fat lambs, 9/ to 12/0.
l'at Cattle.—An average yarding. Prices generally were on a par with last week's values. Extra prime ox sold at up to £6 0/; medium quality ox, £2 10/ to £5 5/; young cows and heifers, £2 15/ to £3 12/G; inferior fat cows, 25/ to 4.0/; boners,10/ to 20/. Pigs.—A medium yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward and eased slightly on last week's quotations. Best baconers sold up to £2 if. We sold medium baconers, £1 14/ to 17/; light baconers and heavy porkers, £1 7/ to £1 12/; medium porkers, £1 to £1 6/; light porkers, 14/ to 18/; best stores, 12/ to 16/; slips, 7/ to 10/; best weaners, 5/ to 7/j others 2/ to 4/0; sows, in pig, 18/ to £l 7/; sows, with litters, £3 5/. Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company report as follow: —Sheep: Prime fat wethers sold at 13/G to 15/; medium, 12/ to 13/; light, 10/ to 11/3; forwardconditioned wethers, 8/ to 9/3; heavy prime fat ewes, 8/3 to 9/; fat ewes, 0/ to 6/9; forward ewes, 4/ to 5/2; heavy fat lambs, 12/6 to 13/6; medium, 10/9 to 11/6; light, 8/6 to 9/9. Cattle: Runners, 39/ to £2 7/; vealers, 14/ to 18/; medium fat steers, £5 6/ to £5 14/; light, £4 10/ to £4 19/; heavy fat cows, £3 12/ to £4 3/; medium, £2 15/ to £3 3/; medium fat cows and heifers, £2 10/ to £3 1/; light fat cows, 32/6 to £2 2/G; killable, 22/ to 28/; bulls, 20/ to 30/. Pigs: Choppers, 24/ to 32/; heavy baconers, £2 2/ to £2 4/; medium, 33/ to 38/; medium porkers, 19/ to 22/; light, 14/ to 18/; stores, 10/ to 14/6; weaners, 3/6 to 8/; slips, 8/ to 10/.
