DANISH BUTTER IN LONDON
In their monthly survey of the London produce markets as at May 12, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, for whom Ualgety and Co. are Now Zealand agents, state: — "Denmark's outlet to other Continental countries ia much curtailed by quotas, notably in France and Belgium, while the poor financial position of Germany prevents thai country from being the large buyer it was. As a result the Danes are making strenuous efforts to serve this country with the surplus, and the price ot" their butter is now lower than it has been since 1904. To-day's quotation of 87/, f.0.b., represents about 100/ landed here, • yet buyers arc not responding to any I extent."
