BOY KNOCKED DOWN.
MISHAP AT DANGEROUS CORNER. BOROUGH COUNCIL DISCUSSION. Milton Walters, aged 5| years, was knocked down by a motor car while crossing the New North Road, near the intersection with Lloyd Avenue, yesterday- afternoon, shortly after \i o'clock. He was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital with a fracture of the thigh and minor leg and head injuries. His condition is not serious. His parents reside at 50, Alberton Road, Mount Albert.
The danger of this corner was mentioned at the meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council last night, when it was stated that children from the Gladstone School crossed the street too near to the bend, so that they could not see cars approaching. At the suggestion of Mr. P. Floyd it was decided to have white lines painted across the road further from the corner, and to arrange for the children to be instructed to cross the road between the lines.
