FLIGHT OVER GLACIER.
SPARTAN 'PLANE AT WATHO GORGE (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HOKITIKA, Monday. ' A successful flight to Franz Josef Glacier and back was made from Hokitika yesterday afternoon in perfect weather by Messrs. J. Renton and E. Matheson. They flew down in 50 minutes, and returned in 55 minutes, •the distance being 89 miles. A flight was made over the glacier, and when the flyers landed in their Spartan 'plane they were warmly welcomed by residents and entertained to afternoon tea at the Glacier Hotel. It was the first time an aeroplane had landed at the glacier.
