Considering that rain fdll during the Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club's races I on Saturday the times recorded were ! creditable. Results:— Junior Handicap, 11 miles.—O. McKeu (8.0) l. time 38.4; B. Dunlop (4.30), 2, time 35.15; A. Chapman (4.30), 3, time 30.15 1-5. Fastest time was registered by B. Evans (scr), 33.51 2-5, T. Maloney (255) being next with' 33.76 1-5. McKee's chain I came off,on, the first lap, but he remounted an< l carried on. Dunlop also performed well for bis first race, outsprintlng his co-marker to gain second place by a length. Senior Handicap, .26 miles: J Avton (IS- 0 ) 1- time 86.30; F. Blatch (9.30) 2, time 7».6 ; \Y . Fearce (7:0) 3, time 81.24 ; y, s. Blomfield (scr) 4 O." Durbin (10) 'ir <L- ™, or 6 : .L. Coleman (12.0)' 7. . V. Blomfield gained time honours by the. good margin of 1,0 1-s'(time 76.40), O.Durbin_ befng next. (77.46 1-5). Jack Ayton,-enjoxing, 18_ minutes start, struck form at last and his win was very popular. F. Blatch gave a fine exhibition of unpaced riding, doing practically six laps by himself. . Pearce drew awav from his buucli on the last, lap to gain third place by a good margin.
