Indian Bowler in Form With Bat. AMERICANS IN BAD WAY. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 13. The All-India cricket eleven's first innings against Lancashire closed for 493 (Amar Singh 131). Lancashire scored 2G3 for two wickets (Paynter 142 not out, E. Tyldesley 78). The South Americans were dismissed by Leicestershire for 112 (Geary four for 32, Snary four for 35). The county replied with 2GI (Gibson five for 113). The visitors lost four wickets for 23 in the second innings.

The Wightman Cup match between the English and American women's teams was won by America. The results were (Americans named first): — Singles.—Miss Jacobs beat Miss Round, o—4, o—3; Mrs. Wills-Moody beat Mrs. Fcarnley Whittingstall, 6—2, 6 —4; Mrs. Wills-Moody beat Miss Round, 6 —2, 6 —3; Miss Jacobs lost to Mrs. Fcarnley Whittingstall, 4—6, 6—2, I—6;1 —6; Mrs. Harper lost to Mrs. King, o—3, 3—o, I—o. Doubles.—Miss Jacobs and Mrs. Harper beat Miss Round and Mrs. Mitchell, 6 —4, G —l; Mrs. Wills-Moody and Miss Palfrey lost to Mrs. Fcarnley Whittingstall and Miss Nuthall, 3—6, 6—l, B—lo.
