WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION

A total of 26,490 tons of ore was treated on behalf of the Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company, Limited, for the year ended December 31, 1931, according to the report of the directors presented at the annual meeting in London on May 20. The return was £11,397, compared with an amount received in the previous year of £11,220 for the crushing of 18,545 tons ° The report states that the ore reserve at December 31 amounted to 23,126 tons, valued at 34/9 a ton. In the eastern section a considerable amount of exploration work had been carried out and 3632 ft of driving, crosscutting, rising amd winziiif had been done, an increase of 1722 ft, as compared with the development work in 1930. ~ „ ~ As stated in the "Star" on May 12, the net profit for the year was £11,843. After making income tax provision and transfers to the development reserve account and exchange reserve account, the balance, £6443, added to the amount brought forward from last year, £3402, made £0845 available for distribution. As previously stated, a dividend payment of 4d a share absorbed £6006, leaving £2930 to be carried forward. NEW REGISTRATIONS. The following new registrations have been made: — Private Companies.
