NORTHERN DISTRICTS

An excellent season has just been concluded by the Northern Wairoa and Kuawai factories. 'J'hc output of butter by the Northern Wairoa company was almost 400 tons in excess of the total for tho 1930-31 season, an increase of just under 16 per cent. The total amount paid out to suppliers for the season was over £23.000 greater than the total payout for the previous season.
Detailed figures for the Northern Wairoa company are as follows, those for tho previous season being given in parentheses: — Butterfat received, May, 202.04211) (107.11111)); for season, 5,118,30311) (4,407,30011)). Advance payments: May, at B'/£d per lb butterfat, £7378 (at 9V6d per lb, £6707); for season, £209,220 (£185.589).
At the Ruawui factory the output of butter was 10S% tons greater than the previous record established in the 1930-31 season. There was an increase of £10,098 in the aggregate payments to suppliers for tho season.
Butterfat received in May totalled 73.3691b, against 82,0831b in May, 193 L. The advance payments for May supply wore lO'/id per lb first grade, and 10d for second grade, a total of £3207, against £3789 for May. 1931. The total for the season was £90.732, against £80,034. The output of butter was 1115 tons 18cwt, against 977 tons 2cwt last 6caeon.
KAITAIA 23 PER CENT HIGHER. KATTATA, Friday. The Kaitaia Dairy Company's output for May was 59 tons, an increase of 84 per cent. For the season to May 31, the output was 1402 tons, an increase of 23% ■per cent, compared with the previous season.
