Sir Truby King is visiting the South Island. Mr. H. W. Foster, of Auckland, is visiting Christchurch. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., of Canterbury, is at present in Rotorua. Mr. Justice Herdman is presiding over the Hamilton session of the Supreme Court. Sir James Parr, Leader of the Legislative Council, left last evening for Christchurch. Mr. J. A. Garnett, a Fijian planter and fruit exporter, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday. Messrs. P. Simpson, L. R. Martin, 0. L. Martelli and A. G. Henry, of Auckland, are in Wellington. Paymaster-Commander R. F. Durman, secretary of the Naval Board, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. W. D. Shilts, secretary of the Goodyear Rubber Corporation, of Akron, Ohio, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., chairman of the Railways Appeal Board, arrived in Auckland by train yesterday morning. Captain P. Ewing, of Titirangi, who is in a private hospital suffering from an old war wound, is progressing favourably. Mr. N. S. Walker of the Oceanic Steamship Company, left for Wellington and the South by the Limited express last evening. Mr. A. W. Wellstcd, senior business agent of the New Zealand Railways, went to Rotorua to-day, and will return about Tuesday. Mr. W. Gillies, assistant chief accountant at the head office, Wellington, of New Zealand Railways, and Mr. E. Muir, of the stores branch, arrived in Auckland to-day from Wellington. Mr. H. H. Sterling, chairman of the Railways Board, arrived by the Limited express this morning. With him was his private secretary, Mr. J. H. BelL They are in Auckland on Departmental business.
Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.l\ for Manukau, and Dr. Neil McDougall, president of the Auckland Football Association, visited Waikaraka Park Reserve at Oneimnga ou Saturday to witness the senior match between OneJiunga and Thistle, and to inspect the ground.
Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, and the llev. W. C. Wood, a member of the board, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited, after attending the nuuual conference of the New Zealand Hospital Boards' Association in Wellington.
Commander A. S. M. Nicholls, R.N.R., who has boon appointed superintendent for , Australia and New Zealand for the Canadian National Steamships Co., Ltd., is a, through passenger by the Aorangi! He was superintendent at Vancouver until the new appointment, and previously held the position of superintendent for the United Kingdom and the Continent.
