HAMILTON BEATS CALLIOPE.
On Saturday the Calliope Harriers met the Ham iltou Club in . the Waikato over fivo miles cross-country. the course was a tine one of fairly level country, ami was completed in fast time. Fifteen Calliope men and about i's Hamilton men started, the first ten of each club counting for points. G. Ready. N. Roberts and .T. Salisbury (Hamilton) and S. Andrews (Calliope) were the leaders for the best part of the race, finishing as follows: G; Ready (Hamilton) 1. S. Andrews (Calliope) 2, ;T. Salisbury (Hamilton) 3, N. Roberts (Hamilton) 4. R. Coombes (Hamilton) 5, D. Silvester (Hamilton) (i. A. Itovvland (Calliope) 7. A. Clayton (Calliope), W. McCombie (Calliope), B. Richardson (Calliope) and W. Whitmore (Calliope), quadruple dead-lieat, 8. Time, 31.17.
The teams race resulted in a close win for Hamilton by 94 points to 114 (lowest wins).
The race was marked liy excellent renin work by tlio visiting runners, who for tho most part finished in bunches. This makes the third year in succession that the Patterson Can has been won bv Hamilton.
