A novice championship over an excellent cross-country course of four miles, was run by tfie iynndale Harriers' Club from the Avondale racecourse on Saturday, course is 1 to any in the Auckland province, the runners having to encounter swamps, gullies and more than 20 fcnces. An outstanding performance was given by C Browne, v.iio won the novice championShip. Scarcely less meritorious was the effort of A.
