STUDENTS' REUNION.
A large and well-attended reunion was lielcl by tlio ex-pupils of Mount Eden College in the lounge of the Lyceum Club oil .Saturday afternoon. It took the form of an "At Home," i:i honour of the former principals, the Misses I3e\vs, and a delightful time was spent in renewing acquaintances and exchanging reminiscenses of schooldays. The lounge was arranged for the occasion with huge bowls of autumn llowers, and J ires burning merrily in the large grates added to the cosiness of the scene. A tablet of beaten brass, recording the foundation of the school by the Misses Bews, was 011 view oil the stage. This will be handed to the board of governors of St. Cuthbert's Girls' College, to be hung in the school hall, and an endowed prize, to be known as the Bewa prize for literature, will also be handed to St. Cuthbert's College by the Mount Eden College past pupils. On their arrival the guests of honour were received by Miss Jessie Rcid and Miss Gladys Erson, and were presented with posies. Later the old pupils were presented to Misses Bews, Miss Mary Gcddes performing the introductions. Before tea was served, Miss Jessie Reid, on behalf of all present, welcomed the Misses Bews, and later, in a short speech, Miss Bews, oil behalf of Miss Alice Bews and herself, expressed their delight at meeting so many of their old pupils again.
