THEFT FROM SHOP.
CRIMINAL SENTENCED,
Three charges of theft of seven pairs of socks, worth 17/0, a pair of boxing gloves valued at £1, and a watch worth 5/5, were denied by Alexander Angus (76), who appeared at the Police Court this morning. Evidence was given that the socks were stolen from the front of a shop, and that accused was trying to dispose of the socks and boxing gloves when a, detective accosted him in a second-hand shop. Angus was convicted, and the police said he had already been declared an habitual criminal. , Angus was sentenced to six months imprisonment.
