MENTAL DEFECTIVES.
QUESTION OF STERILISATION.
(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Juno 10. A Government Committee to inquire into the question of the sterilisation of mental defectives has been set up by the Health Ministry. Mr. L. G. Brock, chairman of the Board of Control, will preside. The committee will examine and report on information available regarding hereditary transmission and other causes of mental disorders and deficiencies; consider the value of sterilisation as a preventive measure, having regard to its physical, psychological and social effects and experience of legislation in other countries; and will suggest any further jinee of inquiry.
