GOVERNMENT TAXATION. The taxation paid to the Government by the Auckland Racing Club on the recent winter carnival amounted to £9885, made up as follows: —Totalisator tax, £4371; dividend duty, £4782; stakes tax, £422: amusements tax, £310.
