GROWTH OF LISTENERS,

RUGBY, June 9.

The accounts of the British Broadcasting Corporation show that the sum of £057,935 was. spent on wireless programmes in the past year. The capital expenditure amounted to more than £907,000 and the corporation paid £74,000 in income tax.

The net revenue of the corporation, which is derived from wireless licenses, exceeded the previous year's figure by more than £200,000. 'The number of licensed wireless listeners at the end of the year was 4,330,735, an increase of 718,825 for the year.
