OFF TO AUSTRALIA.
MANAWHENUA'S TRIP. TO GO NEXT MONTH. TANERIRI MAY ACCOMPANY HIM. Manawhenua, who won a double at the Great Northern meeting, has been nominated for several races in Australia by his owner-trainer, H. Rama, and he will leave here next month to fulfil his engagements. Taneriri, another member of the team who has been laid aside during the last couple of weeks, will also be taken across if he makes satisfactory progress in the meantime. Rama will also take with him the rising two-year-old chestnut colt by Aero from Country Picnic, therefore a full brother to Manawhenua and a halfbrother to Taneriri. This youngster, who has been working nicely at Ellerslie, has had the name of Horowhenua claimed for him. A. D. Adams, the trainer of Sunny Sky, has gone back to Gisborne, and the daughter of Hunting Song is being pottered about till he returns. Probably a definite decision will then be made as to whether the filly will be taken to Australia for the spring racing there. It is reported, says our Dunedin correspondent, that Mr. J. M. Samson's team for Australia in the spring will include Admiral Drake, .Colonel Cygnus, Wealth, Molten, the Paper Money—Entre Nous colt, the Rampion—Down South colt, and the Limond —Anklet colt. They have been nominated for the principal events to be run at Randwkk, Flemington, and Caulfield.
