MANUKAU CLUB.
A 10-inilcs junior and a lii-miles- senior road race will be conducted by the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club over the Avondale South circuit on Saturday. The junior event will commence at two o'clock. TAKAPUNA AMATEUR CLUB,
The Takapuna Chih was represented by lliroc riders in Saturday's open event 01 'J3 miles, from Western Springs to Swanson and buck. V. Ulatuh, from 00, rode well, being in the luincli, until about 1?. miles from the finish. The last hill and the distance caused him to slow up. However he completed the full distancc. . . i, B. Oliver, from 8.0, was also doing well, having caught Blatch and his co-markers when he developed n severe cramp at. Henderson and had to retire. lie should do better next month. V. Blomlield, off 4.0, completed the full distance in the very creditable time of 04.7 3-5, finishing well in the middle of Hen Dwight's hunch and holding on well in the sprint. This was their first ride in open company, and incidentally their longest race to date, and the riders are quite sure that they will «lo better next time. Next Saturday the club holds a 25-mile handicap, comprising seven laps of the course for senior riders, and 11-milo (three lap) handicap for juniors. The handicaps are : — Senior (25 miles). —V. S.
