WARNING SOUNDED.
Mr. Lloyd George and Too Close Unity With Dominions. LONG SILENCE BROKEN. (Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, May 20. Mr. Lloyd George broke his long silence at Llandudno by issuing a warning against "too closely binding ourselves at Ottawa to the Dominions who are seeking exclusive valuable advantages in our markets in return for limited advantages in theirs.
"This means that we will be unable later to propose to other nations a removal of tariff restrictions or discuss trading alliances in which the rest of the Empire, if it desired, could participate."
