FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. A QUIET TIME. There has not been much business on the local Stock Exchange over the last 24 hours, and bidding at this morning's call disclosed a quiet tone. Bank shares were inclined to dullness, and a parcel of Unions changed hands 1/ lower at £6 11/ G. Gas shares were stcadv, with buyers at £1 0/6, and holders asking £1 1/. Buyers for insurances dropped their limits, and holders did not quote. British Tobaccos were firm, and after a sale at £1 7/7 there were still buyers at £1 7/3. Henry Jones Co-op. were on offer at £1 6/0, bringing a buyer at £1 5/. The Noon Call. At the noon call Commercial Banks -were offered Id lower at 13/8, and Unions were again asked for at £6° 10/. New Zealauds were offered 3d lower at £2 3/6, best buyers stopping at £2 3/3. New Zealand Breweries were easier, being on offer at £1 5/. An inquiry came in for Farmers' Fertlisers at 11/6. In Government stocks 4%'s were available at £93, but buyers did not quote. There was no change in s%'s. INTEREST KATES.
