PLUNKET DANCE.
The annual dance of the Northcote branch of the Plunket Society, held in the King's Theatre, last evening, was a pronounced success. Extras were played by Mrs. IST. R. Harris and Mr. R. Harris. The tambourine dance was performed by Misses Bettina Edwards and Pat Williams. The winners of the Monte Carlo competition were Miss G. Birch and Mr. G. Crawford; the spot dance was won by Mrs. Poff and Mr. McClymont, and the supper number by Miss Tremaine. The prizes were given by Mrs. A. Campbell, Messrs. W. E. Carter and A. Campbell. Songs were sung by Miss Sarah Stacpoole and Mr. R. Simmers, and duets by Mrs. K. Harrison and Mr. R. Simmers. The accompanist)* were Mrs. T. Joll and Miss Dorothy Simmers. The president, Mrs. A. Campbell, wearing black net panne velvet, welcomed the large gathering, which included Dr. R. G. Dudding, honorary medical adviser, Dr. J. W. Craven, the newly-appointed superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, and Mrs. Craven, and Mr. and Mrs. R Martin, Mayor and Mayoress. Mrs. Campbell referred to the popularity of the appointment of superintendent made by the Auckland Hospital Board, and conveyed to Dr. Craven the heartiest congratulations from the people of Northcote and Birkenhead. The patronness, Mrs. A. E. Greenslade, on behalf of the gathering, presented Mrs. Craven with a Victorian posy of autumn-tinted flowers, tied with gold tissue ribbon. Mesdames Gordon Fraser, T. Torrens, J. W. Lethbridge and 11. D. Opperman were responsible for the table and hall decorations, and supper was provided by the committee. Among those present were: Mrs. R. Martin, bridge lace; Mrs. A. E. Greenslade, black georgette, brocaded coatee; Mrs. J. W. Craven, model gown salmon embossed georgette, ivory fur; Mrs. M. S. James, gold and Oriental brocade; Mrs. W. E. Carter, parchment lace; Mrs. J. E. Mays, black and turquoise georgette; Mrs. F. Townshend, sapphire blue velvet; Mrs. J. W. Lethbridge, coffee lace and georgette; Mrs. G. D. O'Leary, ciel blue taffeta; Mrs. A. W. Christinas, sunset taffeta; Mrs. Gordon Fraser, black silk net and taffeta brisle; Mrs. W. P. Hay. cyclamen georgette; Mrs. H. ColegraVe! black mariette; Mrs. A. F. Clark "black and silver georgette; Mrs. A. E. Campbell, strawberry erepo de chine; Mrs. A Stilwell, navy and shriinp georgette; Mrs. D. H. Opperman, turquoise °oeorgette, white fox fur.
