BANK ELECTIONS.
ADVICE FROM MELBOURNE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) , WELLINGTON, this day. Melbourne advice received to-day states that the board of directors of the National Bank of Australasia, Ltd., has elected Sir James A. M. Elder and the Hon. Sir Frank Clarke to the positions of chairman and vice-chairman respectively for the ensuing twelve months. The retiring chairman, Sir John Grice, and vice-chairman, Mr. H. M. Strachan, intimated that they did not desire reelection. Sir John Grice had served on the bank as a director for 45 years and chairman for 26 years, during the last nineteen years of which he had been elected annually.
