I INSPECTION BY OFFICIALS. SAFETY OF THE MINES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. On Wednesday morning a party of i officiate, including Mr. McMorran, of the Lands and Survey Department, Mr. Bos- ' silman, the local land drainage engineer, ■ ; Mr. McEnnis, Public Works Engineer, ; Mr. W. Barclay, Inspector of Mines, and Mr. T. Wilson, of Wilsons (N.Z.) Portland Cement Company, visited the Hikurang! Swamp to inspect the site of the proposed dredge cut to determine what ; course should be taken lo remedy the ; danger of the future flooding of the mines. They will submit a report to the Minister of Employment, the Right Hon. , 'j J. G. Coatee. " '■'■
