COMMISSION'S REPORT.
NATIONAL EXPENDITURE. EXTENSION OF TIME GRANTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday In reply to a question, the Prime Minister, 7 the KtHon. G. ■W. Forbes, stated to-day that the National Expenditure Commission would be unable to submit its main report by the specified time, June 1, and a further extension ■would be granted of about a month. The interim report published in March contained recommendations for cuts m the cost of administration of many branches and phases of the public service organisation, but only one or two Government Departments were dealt with. The main report will deal extensively with Government offices.
