FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. A QUIET SPELL. Business on the local Stock Exchange has been rather quiet since last report, with few- sales recorded. Bidding at this morning's call indicated a quieter tone. This was particularly noticeable in the banking section. New Zealand* were 011 offer at £2 4/, with best buyers at £2 3/5. Insurances were firm, and buyers for South British moved up to £2 S/. A parccl of Sanford's pref. shares was available at IS/, and one of Henry Jones at £1 6/9. Moturoa Oils were again wanted, with buyers at 3/G, while 9/3 was offered for Okarito Mining. Government stocks showed little change. At the Noon Call. Bank of New Zealand shares were slightly easier at the noon call, a seller quoting £2 3/10, with buyers offering £2 3/3. Wilsons Cement had reported sales at £1 7/3, and Golden Dawns were placcd at 5/11. Goldsbrough, Mort shares were inquired for at £1 1/10, ami ttie selling quotation then eased to £1 2/4. New Zealand Breweries firmed 3d. being wanted at £1 4/9, and buyers again offered £1 14/ for Burns, Philp shares.
