HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Henderson Town Board was held last night. The; chairman, Mr. A. W. Bussey, presided, and there were also present Messrs. Platt, Corban, Lee, Norcross, Tubberty ■ and Garelja. , , , Work on Roads.—The foreman reported that the footpaths, water channele and drains on Sturges, Lincoln and McLeod s Roads had been cleaned, the shoulders on the concrete road repaired, new crossings put down on Andrew's and Grange Roads and the formation of Matai Road continued. , Relief Works.—The director of the Jubilee Institute for the Blind wrote offering to provide a concert in aid oc the Henderson relief workers. This wae referred to the welfare committee. Departing Headmaster. —The Henderson School Committee invited the board to be present at the farewell to be given to Mr, Kibblewhite, the headmaster of tin; Henderson school, who is being transferred to the Opotiki District Junior High School. The invitation was accepted and it was agreed to place 'on record the board's regret at Mr. Kibblewhite's removal and its appreciation of the excellent services he had rendered to the school during the period it had been under his charge. Water Charges.—Mr. C. M. Spencer and other residents on Te Atatu Road outside the Henderson area who are being supplied with water from the Henderson, mains, requested and were granted a reduction in the present minimum charge, the new rate to be £2 per year plus 7/6 meter rent.

New Bridge.—The board's engineer, Mr. R. Worley, wrote that plans and specifications for the construction of a new bridge, 51ft lonp; and 36ft wide, in reinforced concrete, over the Oratia Stream near the school, had been prepared, and he had arranged for tenders to be called, returnable on June G.
