PAPATOETOE CHAMBER,

The annual meeting of the Papatoetoe Chamber of Commerce was held last evening. Banking Facilities.—After discussing the withdrawal of the Bank of ew Zealand and the National Bank agencies in the district, a committee of Messrs. H. M. Didsbury, W. J. Nicholson, and E. Closey was set up to interview the bank authorities, and to ask them to reconsider thendecision.

Annual Report.—The secretary, Mr. L. Kendall, stated that many representations had been made to the Railways Board, and although many of the suggestions had not been adopted, valuable work had been done through the chamber in generally improving the suburban service. Election of Officers.—The following officers were elected for the coming year:—Messrs. H. M. Didsbury (president), R. McLeod, T. R. Smytheman (vice-presi-dents), L. Kendall (secretary), H. G. Ernest (treasurer), and Pulliene (auditor).
