CYCLIST'S CLAIM.

£1175 DAMAGES AWARDED. SEQUEL TO PENROSE ACCIDENT. Damages totalling £2425 were claimed in the Supreme Court yesterday by Thomas Thomson, aged 40, a leading hand at the West field freezing works, against John Saunders Callinan, owner of a motor van, who, it was alleged, knocked plaintiff off his bicycle at Penrose on June 26. Thomson's right leg was badly broken, and he is still receiving hospital treatment. The jury was out for nearly four hours, and returned with a verdict that defendant's driver had been negligent, but' plaintiff had not been negligent.
