FINANCES REVIEWED.
The financial position of the borough of One Tree Hill was reviewed by the Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, at a pubj 1 - meeting of ratepayers last evening, llie deputy-Mayor, Mr. C. L. Slyficld, pie- ' The general account, said the Mayor, had closed "all square" and the payment of rates was satisfactory. There was a net credit balance on all accounts o. £2483. Figures quoted by the Mayor during his address were published in the "Star" last month, when the town clerk, Mr. A. Leese, submitted a detailed report to the council. "The financial position of the borou n is eminently sound, but the need foi economy and sound administration was never greater," said Mr. Goldstnie 1,1 conclusion.
