COMMUNISTS RAIDED.
MAY DAY PRELIMINARY.
(Received 1 p.m.)
VANCOUVER, April 26,
Anticipating a May Day demonstration the Royal Canadian Mounted Police raided the headquarters of the Communists here and arrested one man, seizing books, banners and two dozen wooden clubs. They are said to be similar to weapons used against the police in recent street riots. The civic authorities granted a permit for a demonstration on Sunday, exacting promises that there be no parade.
