TESTING MAGIC.

Girl to Try to Change Goat Into Youth. STRANGE GERMAN CEREMONY. BERLIN, April 21. A magic charm, comprising a concoction of bat's blood, scrapings of church bells, soot and honey, is the ancient prescription to be used to turn a he-goat into a beautiful youth. Fraulein Urta Bohn, who, on January 23 made the test and failed, is again to try her luck on a high peak in the Hartz Mountains. It can only bo carried out by a young "maiden of pure heart, clad in white garments." Fraulein Bohn fulfilled all the demands of the ancient charm. She is 20 years old, fair-haired, and blue-eyed, and the daughter of a Breslau physician.

Evidently the transformation is expected to take place on this occasion, as a special wireless station is to be erected on Mount Brocken, to broadcast the cere-

German officials have been informed by the Psychical Research Laboratory that a magic circle will be drawn in blue on the top of the mountain, and inside the circle will be a red triangle in a wide black ring. White symbols are to be engraved on the black ring. Floodlights will illuminate the summit, while dancers will reproduce the witches' scene from Faust.

Scientists will chant incantations as Fraulein Bohn leads the goat into the circle of the moon. If the moon fails to become obscured at the psychological moment a cloud of smoke will be manufactured.

Fraulein Bohn went alone to the peak of the mountain when she last carried out the test. She remained there all night awaiting the transformation of the goat into a youth of surpassing beauty.

Nothing happened, except that the girl shivered all night in the bitter cold, and this may, some believe, have spoilt the charm. Special travelling facilities are to be arranged for English people who desire to witness the weird scene.
