The Sydney wool sales resumed to-day. Values were equal to those of the last series. Yorkshire was the chief operator, fair support coming from Japan, France, Germany and America, the last-named being keen for superfine lines. Greasy Merino made 20% d. A total of 9041 bales was offered, and 7991 were sold at auction, also 392 privately. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. CHICAGO, April 2G. Wheat for delivery in May is quoted at 57% cents per bushel, for delivery in July at 59% cents, for September delivery 62 cents and for December 67% cents. TALLOW, HEMP, FRUIT. The Department of Agriculture lias received the following cablegram, dated 23rd instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow—Market continues quiet, and little business lias been done, with no material change in values. Hemp—Manila: Market dull and neglected. Value K grade for April-June shipment £17. Output from January 1 to April 11, 273,000 bales, against 372,000 for same period last year. Stocks in the United Kingdom at March 31 24,482 bales, against 7205 bales same time last year. Sisal: Market dull and easier. No. 1 fair average quality for April-June shipment 6old at £14 5/. New Zealand: Market unchanged. Nominal value of April-June shipment on the basis of fair £15. Stocks in London on March 31 125 tons, against 40 tons same time last year. Fruit—Apples: Ex s.s. Otira. Wellington and some Auckland Cox's Orange, particularly large sizes, over mature and wasty. S.s. Coptic consignment, definite evidence of frost on Cox's Orange, also indications of having been shipped over mature. Official temperature range was maintained, and therefore shipping companies are not liable. Other varieties arrived in good condition. Current prices for Cox's.
