WHEEL AND TRACK NOTES.

COURSE PROPER TO-MORROW. Providing the weather is fine the grass track at Epsom will be open for fast work to-morrow between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. CAMBRIDGE ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the Cambridge Trotting Club s meeting close with the secretary, Mr. Walter Stopford, Cambridge, or .Messrs. Blomfield and Company, Auckland, on Friday at 5 p.m. CHANGE OF STABLES. The pacer Bingen Crest has left F. Smith's stables and has gone into A. W. Broughton's charge to be trained. The ■bay mare ran a long way below what was expected of her at both the Thames and Te Aroha meetings, and Smith was at a loss to account for her poor efforts, ■particularly at Te Aroha, as she had worked out well for him prior to the meeting. Bingen Crest is only a young mare and there is plenty of time for her to develop into a first-class handicapper. GREAT PARRISH AT EPSOM. After the Te Aroha meeting J. Shaw took charge of Great Parrish, and the speedy pacer is at present .being prepared by him for the meeting on Saturday. The Guy Parrish horse is very keen, and in a slow-run race is always liable to beat himself by pulling hard over the first mile or mile and a half. At 'both Thames and Te Aroha he was a pacer of the tearaway type, and though he was under a strong pull for a mile and a half, w.hen D. Bennett asked the horse to go up to the leaders there was no response. ' At his best Great Parrish is a good horse, but it is a long time since he won a race. TWO ON END. With two wins on end to her credit Bessie Parrish is likely to 'be fancied for the Whitford Trot, a 4.53 class, in which she is on 12yds. The daughter of Guy Parrish is in a good position to make it three on end, but she has the hardest part to do and the field she meets on Saturday is considerably stronger than she encountered at the Thames, when she was all out to score; indeed, she would .probably have been beaten had both Windchat and Moko Girl not gone to a break at critical stages. On Saturday there are several useful sorts in the race that Bessie Parrish will have a hard job to beat. GOOD WORKOUTS. There were several smart workouts at Epsom yesterday, the best of the morning being that of Great Parrish, who, driven by J. Shaw, gave Kewpie's Guy many lengths' start and finished on terms with her at the end of two miles on the clay in 4.30. It is very evident that the couple of races lie has had during the past fortnight has worked an improvement in Great Parrish. Auto Machine and Prince Etawali went a mile and a half in 3.29. but there was little pace on in the first mile. A good mile and a quarter was recorded by Rey de Quest and Mazda, the pair covering the journey in 2.50. with Rey de Quest doing slightly the better at the end. A fine exhibition of trotting was given by Mr. Penalty, who never put a foot wrong and trotted a mile and a half in company with Warspite in 3.25 2-5. It was one of the best exhibitions seen at Epsom for some time on the part of a trotter. Carnui worked two miles in 4.45, being accompanied over a mile and a half by Modern Light in 3.32 1-5. In the afternoon Dan Direct and Fisher worked a mile and a half. They were together for nearly a mile and a quarter, when Dan Direct drew away and finishc a couple of lengtH in front in 3.28.
