When a man was locking up a dressmaking shop for the night in Beauchamp Place, Brompton Road, London, something inspired him to open a large cupboard door. He pulled at the handle. The door failed to open. Mildly astonished, he pulled harder. This time it new open, to reveal hiding inside —a woman! Later, when the pclice arrived, she was searched. In her handbag were found a jemmy and 40 keys. At Westminster the woman, Mrs. Christine Lewis, aged 33, of Whitfield Street, Tottenham Court Road, was sentenced to nine months' hard labour.
