LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
SEATS ON COUNTY COUNCILS.
NUMBER RETURNED UNOPPOSED,
Nominations closed at noon to-day for county council elections, also for count) representatives on various local bodies. The elections will take place on May 11. Waitemata County Council. In Waitemata County Mr. A. M. Laing was returned unopposed as representative of tlie County of Waitemata (inclusive of the boroughs and town districts and the Mount Koskill Road District) on the Auckland Harbour Board. The nominations of Messrs. A. W. Bussey aud A. M. Laing have been received for the Auckland Hospital Board for the combined contributory town districts of Glen Eden, Warkworth, Heleusville, and Henderson, and the counties of Rodney, Great Barrier Island, and Waitemata. For three vacancies on the Waitemata Electric Power Board, to represent the Waitemata County, seven nominations have been received: —Messrs W. A. Bishop (county chairman), H. A. Robertson, L. K. Kerr-Taylor, Jas. Mackie, Henry Paltridge, Robert Glasgow, Henry Day. For the riding member elections the following nominations were received: — Wainui, D. S. McCathie and TV. F. Green: Takapuna, J. C. Rennie (returned unopposed); Titirangi, W. A. Bishop (returned unopposed) ; Birkenhead, Henry Day, W. G. Boyd; Kaukapakapa, Henry Dye (returned unoosed) ; Kumeu, L. B. Kerr-Taylor .(returned unopposed); Mairotsihi. Stanley Phillips (returned unopposed): Wnitakere. W. G. Camp, F. W. Grigs, Robt. Glasgow, B. R. Jonkers; Walkumete, H. R. Moor (returned unopposed) ; Pukeatua, .T. W. Burns, Francis Poynton, .T. V. Blanc; Waipareira, Henry Paltridge (returned unopposed). Manukau County Council. Following are the nominations received by the Manukau County Council for seats on the various ridings:— Mangere Riding.—S. W. House, S. W. Rickards, W. Wakefield. Pakuranga— D. P. Bell, J. S. Dickson. Papakura.—C. S. McCallum (returned unopposed). Papatoetoe.—F. M. Waters (returned unopposed). Turanga.—B. T. Booker, returned elected in the place of Mr. L. Gilbertson, who did not offer himself for re-election. Waione.—F. Kearsley, J. Luke (both returned unopposed). There will be elections in only two ridings, Mangere and Pakuranga. For one seat on the Auckland Hospital Board (County of Manukau. Borough of Otahuhu. and four town districts of r ' x \' l ' kura, Manurewa. Papatoetoe, and Howicki. Mr. W. C. Wood has been returned unopposed. Mount Roskill Board. Nominations for the election of four members of the Mount Roskill Rond Board closed at noon to-day. The following nominations were received: — Messrs. C. M. McCuliough, W. H. Thomas, .T. Barclav, S. Scarborough (retiring members), J. E. McClennan, and A. D. Griffin. The election will be held on May 7.
