AT WAIKUMETE.
Tho Anzac Day service at the Waikumeto Cemetery was attended by about 1000 people. Mr. A. J. Routley, chairman of the Glen Eden Town Board, presided. A laurel wreath was placed on each soldier's grave, and beautiful floral wreaths were piled at the base of the memorial column erected by the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association.
The Rev. C. B. Jordan, of the Glen Eden Methodist Church, read the lessen, and the Rev. J. A. Thompson, of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church, Remuera, delivered an address on the significance of Anzac Day. The Salvation Army Band plaj'ed, aifd the people joined in singing the hymns. Representatives were present from the Returned Soldiers Association, the Navy League, the Victoria League, the War Graves Committee, and the Women's National Reserve.
