The late Dame Christina Massey, as a child, attended the day school kept by Mrs. Gorrie, in Auckland, and went to St. James' Presbyterian Sunday • School until when she was nine years of age, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul, went to live at Mangere.

Dr. C. M. Stemliouse, of Otago University, returned to New Zealand this morning by the Zealandia. Dr. Stemhouse went to England, where she took a diploma in ophthalmology and was attached to the Lady Harding Medical College for native women in India. Subsequently she was engaged in general medical work in the villages. She has not yet decided whether to settle in New Zealand.
