INTERESTING MARRIAGE.

The chapel of Christ's College, Christchurch, was the scene on Tuesday afternoon of a wedding of unusual interest, the contracting parties being Eleanor Florence, eldest daughter of the Right Rev. Campbell West-Watson, Bishop of Christchurcli, and Mrs. West-Watson, and Stephen Garland, elder son of Dr. G. M. Lester and Mrs. Lester, Webb Street. Only once previously in its 70 years of existence has a wedding been celebrated in this chapel. With its oaken beams and ivy clad walls the chapel is the most beautiful of school chapels in the Dominion. Great events in the history of the Empire and the school have been marked by religious services there, for it is the centre of the life of the school. The bride's father is warden of the college, while the bridegroom is an old.boy who has manifested a keen interest in the welfare of the school. A former warden of the college, Archbishop Julius, assisted by the chaplain of the college, the Rev..* Owen. Williams, performed the ceremony. Mr. O'Donel Davis was ' Organist, Mr. Tan Cottrell was best man, Mr. H. M. Chrystall was groomsman. A guard of honour was formed outside the church by members of the bride's own company of St. Margaret's Girl Guides. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a simple frock of ivory satin crepe. The flared skirt was cut on diagonal lines, and the V-shaped neckline was outlined in tiny scallops. A long detached train of the satin was fastened to the waist by a. narrow belt of threaded pearls. Her veil of old Limerick lace was worn well back on the head. She carried a bouquet of white flowers. Miss Alison West-Watson, sister of the bride, and Miss Florence Webb were the- bridesmaids. '
