GATHERING OF DOCTORS. 9 ' SITTINGS IN AUCKLAND. TWO PUBLIC MEETINGS. Doctors from all over New Zealand are gathered in Auckland for the annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. Practically all the business of the conference is done in camera, the only public meetings being two—a meeting in connection with the British Cancer Campaign to-morrow night and a meeting for the formation of a league for the hard of hearing, to be held on Thursday afternoon. All the proceedings will take place in the University College Buildings, Princes Street. Delegates registered this morning, and the opening ceremony will be the delivery of the presidential address this evening at 8 o'clock by Mr. Casement G. Aickin, the president of the conference, after the delegates have been welcomed by the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. G. W. Hutchison. The annual dinner will be held on Wednesday and the ball on Thursday, in addition to which the social side will include various gatherings and outings arranged by the local members and their wives. Section Chairmen. In addition to Mr. Casement G. Aiekin, who is president for the year, the officials of the conference include Dr. D. Eardlcy Fcnwick, chairman of council; Dr. G. F. V. Aneon, honorary general secretary; and Dr. S. L. Ludbrook and Mr. Douglas Kobb, honorary secretaries of the conference. The work of the conference is divided up into sections covering the various branches, and the chairman are: Medicine, Dr. C. H. Teweley; surgery, Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie; obstetrics, Dr. E. Tracy-Inglis, radiology, Dr. H. Bruce Mackenzie; anaesthesia, Dr. F. W. Fullerton; ear, nose and throat, Dr. J. Hardie-Neil; ophthalmology, Mr. W. .A. Fairclough. Meetings of these various sections will bo held throughout the conference, and in addition there will be combined meetings, including a display of cinematograph films from Australia, illustrating various branches of medical and surgical work, and papers on important subjects euch as the modern treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis and anaesthesia in surgery. After the display of cinematographic films a meeting will be held to make arrangements for the supply of films to be passed through the New Zealand centres at regular intervals.

The Fellows of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, resident in New Zealand, meet to-day, and among the speakers will be Mr. C. H. Fagge.

The New Zealand-trained masseurs' annual conference will also be in seseion at the University Buildings during the present week, the sittings beginning on Wednesday and ending on Friday.
